bbmaxwell dev, llc (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the FIRE Projection mobile application (the “App”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
If you sign up for early access (via the app or this website), we collect your email address. Voluntary. Used only to notify you about the app and future features.
When you sign up for early access through the app, we store which result mode you were viewing (normal, distant horizon, etc.). This helps us understand what users want from premium features. No financial data is transmitted or stored on our servers.
Your financial inputs (monthly savings, monthly spending, investment balance) stay on your device for all calculations. The estimates you enter during onboarding also appear in our anonymous analytics (see “5 · Analytics”), but only as non-identifiable values — they are never linked to you.
If you subscribe on one of our FIRE web pages — including asking a calculator to email you your results — we collect your email address and, for a results email, the inputs and results you asked us to send. Voluntary. Used to deliver that email and the occasional FIRE-related note; every email includes an unsubscribe link. These signups are stored with the website’s subscriber list (Vercel) and sent via Gmail, separately from the app’s early access list.
Device type and operating system may be collected automatically by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not independently collect device information.
During onboarding, the app asks for your birth date and the age at which you’d like to retire, so it can place your milestones on real dates. Your birth date stays on your device; only your birth year and your target retirement age appear in our anonymous analytics (see “5 · Analytics”), as non-identifiable values that are never linked to you.
We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.

Stored locally on your device for all calculations. Never transmitted to our servers; the estimates you enter during onboarding appear in anonymous analytics only as non-identifiable values (see “5 · Analytics”).
Sent via Resend (email service). See Resend’s privacy policy.
Supabase processes your email address on our behalf. Resend processes your email address to send the welcome message. If the app is distributed through app stores, those platforms may collect usage and device data per their own privacy policies.
The app collects anonymous usage analytics — screens viewed, onboarding progress and the answers you give (including the financial estimates you enter, your birth year, and your target retirement age), and subscription events such as trial starts, purchases, and cancellations — using PostHog and RevenueCat. We also use Sentry for crash and error monitoring: when the app hits an error, it sends a diagnostic report — the error details plus standard device and app information (such as device model and operating system version) — so we can find and fix it. These crash reports do not include the financial figures shown on your screen. All of this data is keyed to a random identifier created on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, or identity, is never sold, and is never used for advertising or shared for tracking across other apps. If you share your email address with us, it is stored separately and is never connected to analytics data.
We retain your email address for as long as you remain on the early access list. You may request removal at any time.

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email.
