How to play Yatzy — every category, scored.
Yatzy, the classic five-dice game, runs over 13 rounds and 13 scoring categories. On your turn, roll five dice up to three times, keeping the ones you like between rolls. After your last roll, choose a category to score — even if it scores zero. The game ends once every category is filled. Highest total wins. Here is exactly how each category scores, with a worked example.
Upper section
Upper bonus
Score 63 or more across the upper section.
Lower section
Yahtzee bonus
Each extra Yahtzee after the first.
Adding all that up by hand — the bonus thresholds, the joker rules, every column — is exactly the part Scorecard for Yatzy does for you.
A scorecard that does the bookkeeping.
Adds up everything
Upper subtotal, the 63+ bonus, the lower section, and the grand total — all recalculated the instant you tap in a score.
Handles the tricky bonuses
Multiple Yahtzees at +100 each, with proper joker-rule scoring for the extras — the part most scorecards get wrong.
Stats that settle it
Win rate, best and average score, head-to-head records, and current streaks for every player who's ever sat at your table.
Pass-and-play
Add as many players as the table holds, each with their own emoji avatar. No accounts, no network, no fuss.
Pick up where you left off
Close the app mid-game and come back hours later — the scorecard is exactly where you left it.
Stays on your phone
No sign-in, no cloud sync, no tracking. Your games and your stats never leave your device.

- No — you play with your own real dice. Scorecard for Yatzy is a scorecard, not a dice game: you enter each turn and it handles all the totals, bonuses, and scoring rules so nobody has to do the math.
- Score 63 or more across the upper section (Ones through Sixes) and the app adds a +35 bonus automatically — no need to remember it or add it yourself.
- The first Yahtzee scores 50. Every extra Yahtzee after that is worth +100, and if the Yahtzee box is already filled you can score it in another category under joker rules. The app tracks every bonus for you.
- As many as are at the table. It’s pass-and-play on a single phone, and each player gets their own emoji avatar that carries across every game.
- Yes. Every finished game is saved automatically, with per-player win rate, best and average scores, head-to-head records, and win streaks — so you can finally settle who’s actually the best.
- Everything stays on your device. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud sync — your games and stats never leave your phone. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
